UREYcharlesCharles Orrie Urey, 75, a resident of 900 Big Egypt Road, Cranberry, died peacefully at 9:53 AM Monday, May 13, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family; following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

He was born August 20, 1943 in State College, a beloved son of the late: Clair and Mabel Geogine Urey.

Charlie worked for a number of years as a laborer at Electralloy in Oil City. He enjoyed gardening and mowing the grass at his home. He adored his truck!

He also loved animals, especially his cats and his beloved Jack Russell terrier, Spike, who faithfully remained at his bedside until his last breath. Charlie will be deeply missed by his family, who loved him.

He is survived by a daughter, Sharon McDonald and husband, George L. McDonald, Jr. of Oil City. Also surviving are his siblings: Barb Hartley of State College; Linda Holton and husband, James of Sykesville, MD; Kenneth Urey and wife, Linda of Franklin; Alice Goodman and husband, Glenn of Greenville; Bonnie Reynolds of Franklin; Michael Schreck and wife, Sue of Blooming Valley; Rick Parker of Renova; and a brother, Ronnie, whom he lost contact with in his childhood.

Also surviving is his former wife, Donna R. Urey of Oil City; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Larry Parker of State College and Gary Reed of Punxsutawney.

In accordance of his wishes, there will be no public visitation.

Burial in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens shall be private.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be directed to his sister-in-law, Shirley A. Renninger, to help defray his funeral expenses.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin.
