Peebles Store to Reopen As Gordmans

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — The Peebles Store at the Clarion Mall complex will be converted to a Gordmans, according to Stage Stores, the parent company of both entities.

Gordmans is considered an “off-price” store according to the Stage corporate website, which describes the store as having “bigger deals and smaller prices around every corner.”

The store will offer “top trends, brand-name apparel and stylish home decor for way less.” They also promise to sell home, beauty, and clothing products at discounted prices.

Stage Stores announced earlier this year they planned to do 70-80 conversions of their stores to the Gordmans banner, one of which is now confirmed to be happening in Clarion. In March it was announced that the Clarion Peebles store would be closing in January of 2020.

Peebles will now be closing on September 7 and Gordmans will open in the same building at an unconfirmed date later that month.

The company is expected to maintain the current Peeble’s staff.

Stage Stores, based in Houston, Texas, operates 650 stores in 42 states under the Stage, Peebles, Gordmans, Bealls, Palais Royal, and Goody’s nameplates.
