Cypher to Be Sentenced on June 3 in Baker’s Death

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – Amanda Cypher is scheduled to be sentenced on June 3 on charges related to the death of Tausha Baker.

According to court documents, 34-year-old Amanda Lynn Cypher — of Franklin, and currently lodged in the Venango County Jail — is scheduled to be sentenced on Monday, June, 3, at 3:00 p.m. in Venango County Court of Common Pleas.

Senior Judge H. William White will be presiding.

On May 14, Venango County Judge Robert Boyer recused himself from Cypher’s plea hearing/sentencing, citing personal relationships with extended relatives of Tausha Baker.

Cypher, who testified for the prosecution in the case of Richard Kennedy, was offered a plea deal for her testimony. The details of that deal were supposed to be part of the hearing on May 14.

Kennedy was found guilty of first-degree murder in the October 27, 2017 death of Tausha Baker.

Kennedy is scheduled to be sentenced on August 26 at 9:00 a.m. in front of President Judge Oliver J. Lobaugh.
