Clarion Woman Arrested After Striking Mother in Face With Cell Phone

HIGHLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Clarion woman is facing assault charges following a domestic dispute that occurred in Highland Township over the weekend.

Court documents indicate the Clarion-based State Police filed criminal charges against 30-year-old Erica Rose Dattolo, of Clarion.

According to a criminal complaint, around 8:43 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, Trooper Gray, of the Clarion-based State Police, was dispatched to a residence on McCleary Road in Highland Township, Clarion County, for a report of a domestic incident.

The victim reported that she and Erica Rose Dattolo got into a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation at the residence, the complaint states.

During the physical altercation, Dattolo struck the victim in the face twice, once with the edge of her cell phone, causing the victim injuries to her lip and her face above the right eye, according to the complaint.

Dattolo was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill at 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact

Unable to post $2,500.00 monetary bail, she was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, with Judge Schill presiding.
