Details of Shippenville Truck vs. SUV Collision Released

SHIPPENVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Police have released the details of an accident that occurred in Shippenville Borough late last Wednesday morning.

According to police, around 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 82-year-old Patricia J. McConnell, of Clarion, was operating a 2010 Mercury Mountaineer, traveling east on U.S. 322 just east of 1st Street.

Police say when McConnell traveled across the double yellow line and into the westbound lane, she struck a 2007 Kenworth semi-truck operated by 56-year-old Franklin L. Davenport, of Lickingville.

McConnell’s vehicle struck Davenport’s semi-truck head-on. McConnell’s vehicle then came to an uncontrolled final rest facing northwest, while Davenport’s vehicle came to a controlled final rest facing west.

McConnell was wearing a seatbelt and suffered injuries of unknown severity. She was transported to UPMC Northwest by Shippenville-Elk Volunteer Ambulance Service.

Davenport was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
