Q&A With Troy Johnson

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in and why?
TJ: Basketball is my favorite sport because it is constant motion and requires a lot of focus and teamwork to succeed.

D9Sports: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
TJ: My favorite moment was when we played Karns City and Brooks LaVan hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to send us to the PIAA State Playoffs. I think we were the first boys team from Keystone to go to states in nine years.

D9Sports: Why do you play high school sports?
TJ: I play high school sports to be with friends, stay active, and I love the competition.

D9Sports: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
TJ: My parents have influenced me a lot and always do everything they can to take me to practices or to the gym to workout. They are very supportive and push me to always play my hardest. My sisters are there if I ever need help improving my game and making me feel good by letting me beat them in 1-on-1 every time. I am also grateful for my coaches and especially Coach Heath. He always supported me and gave me confidence anytime I needed it. He is a great guy to be around and is a coach that makes you want to go and play your heart out every single game.

D9Sports: If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be and why?
TJ: I honestly don’t know if I would change anything about high school sports. Maybe a shot clock in basketball so teams wouldn’t be able to hold the ball for extended amounts of time.

D9Sports: If you could be president for a day, what would be the one major thing you would do?
TJ: If I was president for a day I would definitely give out free ice cream and probably end up creating world peace because everyone loves ice cream.

D9Sports: What is your ideal place to live? County, City, Suburb? Why?
TJ: I would like to live in the country but not too far away from a city. I would hate the business of the city every day but I enjoy going there every once in a while.

D9Sports: What would someone who doesn’t know you be surprised to find out about you?
TJ: I like to think of myself as a decent juggler.

D9Sports: What is your strongest subject in school?
TJ: Math is definitely my strongest subject but the sciences are my favorites.

D9Sports: If there was one period in history or one event in history you could go back to, what would it be?
TJ: I would love to go back to watch the moon landing. Not really sure why it just sounds cool.

D9Sports: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
TJ: LeBron James or Michael Jordan? I have always been a LeBron fan since a young age.
