Tractor Trailer Crash Stymies Traffic on Interstate 80

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — Emergency personnel responded to a tractor-trailer crash that occurred on Interstate 80 East on Monday afternoon.

According to a representative of Venango County 9-1-1, they received a call around 1:26 p.m. reporting a tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 80 East near the 38.5 mile marker.

Emlenton Fire Department, Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department, Emlenton Ambulance, and Franklin-based State Police were dispatched to the scene.

According to Gerry Rea, Chief of Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department, the driver of the truck apparently lost control and crashed into the median of Interstate 80.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

The accident caused significant traffic backups on Interstate 80 East.

The scene was cleared around 2:20 p.m.
