CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – The Gordmans store, which will be occupying the current Peebles location in the Clarion Mall complex, is scheduled to open on September 17.
According to a release from Stage Stores, the parent company of both Peebles and Gordmans, the new Gordmans’ store will hold its Grand Opening on Tuesday, September 17, beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:00 a.m.
“The original store, Peebles, will be open until September 4, and then close for about two weeks to complete the conversion process from Peebles to Gordmans. The store will officially open as a Gordmans on September 17,” Sydney Edens, Media Liaison for Gordmans, told exploreClarion.com.
Gordmans is considered an “off-price” store, according to the Stage corporate website, which describes the store as having “bigger deals and smaller prices around every corner.” Gordmans offers everything from home décor and beauty products to children’s clothing and toys, as well as women’s and men’s apparel.

Stage Stores, Inc., acquired 50 of the 100 Gordmans stores in existence in 2017, when the century-old, Nebraska-based department store chain was in bankruptcy, according to the Denver Post, while Gordmans’ other assets were liquidated by Tiger Capital Group and Great American Group.
Stage Stores, Inc. has expanded the Gordmans name since then, currently operating 141 Gordmans stores, along with 645 Bealls, Goody’s, Palais Royal, Peebles, and Stage specialty department stores, and an e-commerce website at www.stage.com.
As part of Gordmans’ commitment to the community, the retailer will present a $1,000.00 check donation to Clarion Area High School during the Grand Opening celebration, according to the release from Stage Stores.

Community members are invited to Gordmans’ Grand Opening ribbon-cutting, joining city and chamber of commerce representatives before stepping inside the new store to discover the fun finds and great deals.
As part of the festivities, Gordmans will be offering giveaways and other surprises. The first 100 guests in line at the Grand Opening celebration will have an opportunity to win a $50.00 gift card or a $5.00 shopping card. They also will receive a Gordmans insulated tote bag.
Guests who enroll in the Style Circle Rewards program will enjoy incredible payback rewards, double-double points, a birthday gift, and more. Guests who apply and are approved for a Gordmans credit card will receive 20 percent off their first day’s purchases.
