CLARION, Pa. – Clarion Hospital has just begun an expansion project for its pharmacy.
The renovation will increase the space in the pharmacy with enhancements to meet the new USP 800 Standard for the quality standards for safety, sterility, potency, and purity of compounded drugs in the health care setting.
The hospital pharmacy currently dispenses 34,364 IVs per year; 2,870 doses of Chemotherapy (not including pre-medications); and approximately 239,960 doses of prescription drugs per year.
“This renovation allows for growth and a state of the art workspace in support of the Clarion Hospital and Cancer Center,” said Will Simpson, Director of Clarion Hospital Pharmacy.
The project is expected to be completed by December.
