New Bethlehem Woman Accused of Hitting, Biting Woman During Dispute Due in Court Tomorrow

NEW BETHLEHEM BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — A New Bethlehem woman is facing a hearing on Tuesday on charges related to an incident in which she allegedly struck and bit another woman during an argument.

According to court documents, 37-year-old Laura Elizabeth Bracken, of New Bethlehem, is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24.

She faces the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

The charges stem from an assault that occurred at a residence on Wood Street in New Bethlehem involving Laura Bracken.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 8:49 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, Trooper Smith, of the Kittanning-based State Police, was assigned to investigate a report of a domestic incident that occurred on August 22 at the above-described location.

A known female victim reported that around 8:30 p.m. on August 22, she engaged in a verbal argument with Laura Elizabeth Bracken that escalated into a physical altercation, the complaint states.

Bracken allegedly struck the victim several times in the back with a closed fist, bit her in the arm, and bit her on the back of her right shoulder, according to the complaint.

The complaint notes that the victim suffered injuries to her right forearm and had marks on her chest, left bicep, and right shoulder.

Charges were filed against Bracken through Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller’s office on Wednesday, August 28.
