THE LATEST ON THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) OUTBREAK
Donna Jean Mora
Born October 13, 1944, in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Pauline (Graham) McCartney.
Jean lived her life her own way, which was proven by her earning her Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science degree while in her mid 50’s.
Jean loved spending time with her family, her friends, and all of God’s creatures. She was a free spirit and environmentalist. She loved adventures; she scaled Longs Peak in the Rocky Mountain National Park, the highest peaks in Wales, Scotland and England. She loved the great outdoors, especially hiking, camping, kayaking, golfing, sitting around the campfire, and gazing at the stars. Jean lived by her favorite toast, “many moons, many mountains.”
Jean wanted to be remembered “that she was kind and tried to be kind.”
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 33 years, Rafael Mora; her partner of over 20 years, Juanita Webber of Utica; her son, David Mora of Vancouver, WA; and her five daughters, Donna Lorraine Briggs (David) of Bloomington, IN, Christine Breakstone (Lester) of Kennerdell, Lisa McLoughlin (Peter) of White Plains, NY, Gina Merkel (David) of LaPorte, IN, and Jennifer Mora (Benjamin McCanna) of Peaks Island, Maine.
Additionally surviving her are her seventeen grandchildren, Aubrey Mora, Alison Briggs, Rebecca Briggs, Zachary Briggs, Ethan Briggs, Savannah Logsdon-Breakstone, William Logsdon (Alyssa), Christianna Logsdon, Brendan McLoughlin, Colin McLoughlin (Elsie), Devin McLoughlin, Quinlan McLoughlin, Anastasia Merkel, Theodore Merkel, Dakota Merkel, Otis McCanna, and Arlo McCanna; her eight great-grandchildren, Ambelina Logsdon, Apollo Young, Cambria Miller, Adalynn Fish, Malina Fish, Abaih Thompson, Nathan McLoughlin, and Othello Isaac Gordon; and by her sister, Shirley Lewis (Leonard).
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Krizon.
