Stolen Vehicle Leads Police in High-Speed Pursuit; 14-Year-Old Teen Taken into Custody

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — A 14-year-old female juvenile has been placed in custody as a result of a stolen vehicle that led police in a high-speed pursuit from Titusville to Rouseville.

Titusville Police reported that around 12:42 a.m. on Friday, November 15, an attempt to perform a traffic stop in the parking lot of McDonald’s on a Ford Expedition prompted the incident.

As Titusville Police exited their cruiser and approached the vehicle, the Ford Expedition took off and headed southbound onto Route 8. With their lights and sirens activated, police pursued the Ford Expedition and were taken on a high speed chase that traveled onto Route 8 South, turning onto Black Road. From there, the Ford Expedition continued onto Dutch Hill Road before circling back to Route 8 and then returning to the City of Titusville.

As the pursuit continued northbound on Franklin Street, the Ford Expedition made a sudden turn into the parking lot of Sav-A-Lot. The Ford Expedition then traveled to the southeast corner of the parking lot and ramped the parking blocks, traveling over the sidewalk and jumping the curb onto South Martin Street before turning eastbound down Water Street.

The pursuit continued across South Brown Street, Bank Street, Roberts Street, and East Bloss Street before heading southbound out Route 8 again. From there, Titusville Police pursued the Ford Expedition for several miles into Venango County. As the pursuit was approaching Rouseville, Franklin-based State Police deployed spike strips that successfully deflated the two front tires of the Ford Expedition.

The pursuit continued for a few more miles into Rouseville until the Ford Expedition traveled off the roadway and became disabled.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the Ford Expedition had been recently reported stolen.

A 14-year-old female juvenile was charged with one felony count of Fleeing and Eluding; Recklessly Endangering Another Person; Unauthorized Use; Drivers Required to be Licensed; and multiple traffic violations.
