Cassidy Snider Named PSAC West Athlete of the Week for October 17

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) announced their weekly award winners in volleyball on Monday afternoon.

Clarion’s Cassidy Snider (Harmonsburg, Pa./Conneaut Area) earned PSAC West Athlete of the Week honors after helping the Golden Eagles improve to 20-1 overall and 10-0 in PSAC play last week.

Snider recorded a pair of kill-dig double-doubles last week as Clarion defeated Seton Hill and Mercyhurst in a pair of divisional matches. The sophomore outside hitter averaged 4.57 kills per set over the week, totaling 32 kills in seven total sets, while hitting a respectable .286.

She also recorded 23 digs in the seven sets, an average of 3.29 digs per set.

Snider had a 16-kill, 10-dig performance in the Golden Eagles’ gutsy effort over Seton Hill on Tuesday, and followed that up with 16 kills and 13 digs in just three sets against Mercyhurst.

Snider ranks second in the PSAC with 4.11 kills per set, and her attack percentage of .310 checks in at sixth in the conference.
